Mary Jean Braine (Muir) 29th February 1940 – 7th August 2024

Mary Jean Braine (Muir), 84, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on the 29th of February 1940, in New Delhi, India, to William and Mary Connor Muir. Mary Jean was the oldest of two children. Her brother, William Connor Muir, preceded her in death in 2018. Mary Jean spent her early years in New Delhi, India, before moving to Huddersfield in Yorkshire, England with her family in 1947.

She pursued her education at Harrow Weald College where she honed the skills that would later define her successful career. Mary Jean built a respected career as a Safety Product Manager for Simpson Lawrence USA, where she was known for her dedication and expertise. Her work was a reflection of her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of others, a value she carried throughout her life.
On the 16th of September 1967, Mary Jean married the late Brian Arthur Albert Braine.

Together, they raised three children-Lucy Caroline Patsko (Joseph) Emma Victoria Letchworth, and James William Braine (Jennet) instilling in them the same values of love, kindness, and integrity that Mary Jean lived by every day. Mary Jean was a devoted and loving mother, and her legacy lives on through her five grandchildren: Luke Austin Letchworth, Joseph Connor Patsko, Logan Jett Letchworth, Caroline Adriana Patsko and Jasmine Mary Braine. She found immense joy in her family, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Mary Jean will be remembered for her warmth and her generous spirit. Her family and friends will deeply miss her, but they take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents and the Lord Almighty.

A private service will be held for the family, with a memorial celebration of her life planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
