Surrounded by great sorrow and endless love, Mary Elizabeth (Devereaux) Sullivan, age 63, left us on May 6, 2026.
She is survived by her husband, partner and best friend Chris Sullivan, their cherished daughter Bridgette Sullivan and beloved stepchildren Michael Sullivan and Megan Sullivan as well as her siblings, William Devereaux (Amy Devereaux), Joan Devereaux Dilorati (Daniel Dilorati), and Stephen Devereaux, her sister-in-law Marcia Sullivan (Daniel Meadows) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 26, 1962 -- the youngest child of Geraldine L. Devereaux and William J. Devereaux. She was called Mary Beth as a child. The family eventually settled in the Riverside neighborhood of East Providence.
Mary graduated from St. Mary’s Academy Bay View in East Providence in 1980. She met her husband in 1991 in Rhode Island. They relocated to West Palm Beach Florida and were married on Jupiter Beach.
In 2001 Mary and Chris relocated to Lakewood Ranch Florida where they made their home for the next 25 years. Together, they built Chris Sullivan Insurance, a Bradenton-based insurance agency for almost two decades.
The family wishes to thank the staff of both the SMH Jellison Cancer Institute and Tidewell Hospice Bradenton for Mary’s compassionate care.
Mary attended Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch. The family asks that she be remembered in your prayers.
Visiting hours are Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes 43rd St. Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL, 34209, starting at 1 pm, with services following at the same location at 3 pm. Burial will be a private family ceremony.
