Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Hayes, a loving wife and matriarch to many, passed away on November 28, 2024, in Bradenton, FL. She was born in Passaic, NJ, on December 28, 1943. Jackie moved to Florida in 1993 with her husband of 46 years, Carl William Hayes.
Jackie was a loving stepmom. She is survived by her two stepdaughters, Babette Hayes and Joei Skeffington, her brother, Everett Richards, her sister, Jane Howell, and her cherished granddaughter, Autumn Tomas. She is also survived by her beloved nieces Lynn Harrington, Jane Lombardi, Coleen Howell Silverman, Kelly Healy, and Jacquline Richards, and her nephews Timothy Kaufman and George Howell.
Besides being a devoted stepmom and aunt, she was also a treasured and entrusted friend.
Jackie passed away on Thanksgiving, one of her and her husband Carl's favorite holidays. Her husband Carl passed away 9 months earlier.
Jackie loved cooking, crafting, music, bowling, golfing, and spending time with friends, but mostly taking care of her favorite person, her husband Carl.
Jackie lived a life full of purpose and devotion. As a loving wife, stepmother, friend, and aunt, she exemplified strength, patience, and unconditional love. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to everyone who knew her, whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear.
The family hopes that anyone who knew Jackie and anyone who took the time to read her obituary will honor and remember Jackie by being generous and thoughtful of others every day, as she was to others.
A Memorial Service will be at 3 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207, with a late lunch to follow at the Funeral Home.
