Brother Maxie Bragg Jr. was Born on Dec. 6, 1931, in Albany, Ga. To the late Maxie Bragg Sr. and Annie Bell Woodson. He departed this life peacefully at home on June 4, 2024.

Brother Maxie Bragg attended elementary school and high school in Moultrie, GA. He continued his higher education at Albany State College in George. After completing his freshman year, he joined the United States Air Force. After serving 4 years, he attended Florida A&M University where he received a B.S degree in Music education. While at FAMU he was a member of the famous Marching 100 band.

He then became a member of the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He was also a Founding Brother of the Xu Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Manasota Florida, was a member of Metro Assembly of Retired Educators. and many other organizations. He later obtained a master's degree in music from the University of South Florida.

Mr. Bragg was hired by the late C.E Haile, Principal of Lincoln Memorial High School where he was a music teacher and the band Director. As the Director of the Lincoln Trojans Marching Band they performed at football games, parades, and many other school functions, especially "Marching through the Tunnel" onto the football field. Outside of being the band director he enjoyed traveling with his family, collecting coins, play golf, playing his saxophone and thrifting at the Flea Market. He taught at numerous schools throughout Manatee County before retiring in 1989.

Upon arriving in Manatee County, he became a member of St. Andrews A.M.E Church. Where he served as a member of the Steward Board and many other offices within the church.

He leaves to cherish his beloved wife Nancy L. Bragg of 65 years. One Sister Mary Barns Albany, GA. Sister- in- Laws Ora Lee (Emmerson) Murray, Evelyn Harris, and Jeanette Kelly of Palmetto, Fl. Daughter Pamela (George) Wilson, Tulsa, Okla, Son Ricky (Alma) Bragg, New Orleans, LA, Daughter Terri J. Bragg, Palmetto, Fl and Son Maxie (Sabrina) Bragg III, Palmetto, FL. Nine Grandchildren; Numerous Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A loving extended family Ms. Helen Woodie and children and Tiki Faison. Godchildren Dursilla Belvin, Nicole Morgan and Nyjah Mays. Special Friends Darryl Davis and James Hallback.
