Mayor's Corner: Gene Brown

Posted

It might be easy and tempting to treat Memorial Day as any other holiday. a day to cook out with the family, to revel in having a day off. But Memorial Day is so much more than that, and I urge everyone to pause and really reflect on what this day is about: honoring our fallen men & women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We remember those who died in combat, but also those who are in active military service. They are prepared to do whatever is necessary at any given moment to guard our safety, even though their duty might call for them to give their lives. Please stop and honor those in our military service; we say thank you to them all.
