BRADENTON – After an update on audit activities by district internal auditors Shinn and Company, the Manatee School Board will focus on meeting agendas and protocols during its workshop Monday afternoon.
Among the topics to be discussed during the workshop are public comment protocols, during which the board will look at the public comment procedures for surrounding counties. Also brought up will be the Florida School Board Association’s recommendation of an $1,426/yr raise, which is set by state law and retroactively goes into effect July 1, 2013.
During its Monday evening regular meeting, board members are expected to approve one of two contracts that would hire a firm for the purpose of comprehensive revision of board policies. If approved, the winning contract would go to either NEOLA, Inc. or Educational Management Consultant Services, Inc.
