Michael A. Hayes, 69 of Bradenton, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Manatee Memorial Hospital. For three decades Michael devoted his time and energy to help others to overcome substance abuse. His commitment to service included ownership of two men's sober houses which provided shelter and a safe place for men in early recovery. His optimism was legendary. He kept things simple yet spoke profoundly and his humor was aways timely.
In retirement he moved from Massachusetts to Bradenton Forida fulfilling a lifelong dream. He leaves behind his loving partner Sandy Boyle and his beloved daughter, Laura Hayes. He was a loving father to his late son, Eric Hayes, grandsons, Aiden, Quinn, Nolan and Liam. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Diane, Elizabeth and Stephen along with his brother, two sisters', nephews and cousins.
He overcame great obstacles in his early lifetime to become a man who impacted, truly making a difference to many that now celebrate the man who truly was an unsung hero. "May the road rise up to meet you and may the wind always be at your back" -Irish blessing. There will be a celebration of life for Michael on July 20, 2025, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Cameron Building, 68 Falmouth St. Attleboro, Massachusetts 02703.
