In Loving Memory: Michael Robert McDonald

Michael McDonald, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 30th, 2024, at the age of 61. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.

Born on July 27th, 1962, to Judy McDonald, and George HaverKamp. Middle child to 5 children, younger brother to the eldest brother, Brian McDonald, and then Mark McDonald, and older brother to his sisters Brenda (McDonald) Johnson, and Carmen (Houglum) Johnson. There are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was a beacon of light to all who knew him. His childhood was marked by curiosity and a love for adventure, traits that would shape his remarkable life.

He grew into a man of integrity, guided by principles of honesty, hard work, and compassion, and most of all love.
In 2007, Michael married the love of his life, Marsha (York) McDonald, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and devotion.

As a father, Michael was fearless, strong, and loving. He instilled in his only son, Cole Michael McDonald, the values of hard work and a loving environment. Michael supported his son in everything he could, from t ball as a child, to Law Enforcement as an adult.

Michael had a passion for hunting, fishing, fast cars, and cooking. Michael would later pass these traits down to his son, and they would learn to love doing them together. Michael enjoyed celebrating the holidays with his son, and granddaughter, Avery McDonald.

In his later years, Michael embraced the role of grandfather, with boundless love and affection. He delighted in the laughter of his Avery, cherishing every moment spent in their company. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, a reminder of the enduring power of love.

Michael will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Marsha, his child Cole, and his grandchildren Avery McDonald, and soon to be grandson Ciaus McDonald. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will continue to guide us, comforting us in times of sorrow and inspiring us to live with the same grace and courage that he exemplified.

A celebration of Michael's life will be at the Toale Brothers Funeral Home on June 15th, 2024, at 11:00am, at 912 53rd Ave W, Bradenton, Florida.

As we bid farewell to Michael, let us take solace in the knowledge that his love will live on forever in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
