BRADENTON — It's hard to improve on the natural beauty of Mineral Springs Park at Riverwalk East. But the CRA's Public Art Advisory Board has agreed on a public art component that can enhance it in unique ways.
Artist Reinaldo Correa calls his project, "The Singing River: a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Bradenton." The "river" lights up between day and night and through capturing the wind, creates a soothing sound that further enhances the immersive experience of the artwork.
At a community input meeting in June, 65% of participants chose a color combination depicting "sunset." Kiosks that explain the historic significance this park played in the history of Bradenton will be installed along with the artwork. The piece is expected to make its debut next spring.
