BRADENTON – The Foundation for Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Jennings as 2014 Board Chairman and Jeanie Kirkpatrick as Vice Chair. The appointment of two women as Officer’s marks a first in the organization’s history. New Director Elizabeth Moore also joined the 17-member Foundation Board, and Boys & Girls Clubs welcomed new CEO Marc Dosogne in October.

Founded in 1988, the Foundation fosters philanthropy to ensure long-term financial sustainability and advance the mission of the Manatee County Boys & Girls Club. The Foundation’s Endowment Fund distributed $800,000 to the organization in 2013, helping fund programs for more than 6,000 Manatee County children at seven locations. Boys & Girls Clubs enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

For information on how you can change the lives of children today and tomorrow, contact Julia Steele, Foundation Executive Director at 941-761-2582, julia.steele@bgcmanatee.org or visit our website at www.bgcmanatee.org.
