BRADENTON – The Foundation for Dreams and Dream Oaks Camp is pleased to announce Susannah Cripe as its new executive director. Cripe brings almost 20 years of experience in working with children and adults as a director in non profits that serve individuals with special needs. She has an extensive understanding of the medical, physical and psychological needs that come with caring for a broad variety of disabilities. Cripe will begin her new position at the Foundation for Dreams on November 4, 2013.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Dreams, I am delighted to welcome Susannah Cripe as the new executive director," said Board Chair Eddie Mulock. "Her wealth of experience and demonstrated leadership in serving those in need will help the Foundation for Dreams move forward in its mission to provide a special place for children with varying exceptionalities and impairments the opportunity to bond with others, build steps toward a greater self-confidence, strengthen activities of daily living and life skills, while providing the parents and/or caregivers some respite time from the daily responsibilities of caring for a child with special needs or chronic illnesses
As executive director of the Foundation for Dreams, Cripe will oversee the all operations at Dream Oaks Camp.
Cripes’s community involvement has included serving as a board member for the Respite Coalition for the State of Florida, Foundation for Dreams Board of Directors, and Children First of Sarasota. She is a current member of the Community Organizations Active and Disaster organization (COAD) in both Sarasota and Manatee Counties and is an active board member on the Gateway Rotary Club of Sarasota.
