BRADENTON – At its March 25, 2013 Regular Board Meeting, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority (SMAA) elected Commissioner Henry Rodriguez as Chair. Rodriguez will
serve as Chair until the organizational meeting in November 2013.
Mr. Rodriguez, a local Real Estate Investor and Developer, was appointed to the SMAA in 2010. He has served on a number of community and charitable boards as well as economic development and business boards. In addition to the SMAA, he currently serves on the Enterprise Florida and Space Florida Boards.
Rodriguez stated, “I am very happy to be selected to serve as Chair and look forward to continuing my service to the airport and our community.”
Completing the officers for the Airport Authority board are Leslie Wells, Vice Chair, and Jack Rynerson, Secretary.
About the SMAA
The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority was created as a public agency by the State of Florida to operate and manage the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The Airport Authority is tasked with the power to acquire, construct, improve, finance, operate, and maintain the airport facilities for the primary purpose of meeting the air transportation needs of Sarasota and Manatee counties.
