Movers and Shakers: Lighthouse of Manasota Hires New Director of Development

The Lighthouse of Manasota is proud to announce and welcome Lisa J. Howard, CFRE as its new Director of Development.

Ms. Howard brings more than 20 years of experience in the fund development field specializing in social service agencies serving children and families. She comes to the agency from Miller, Calhoun & Company where she consulted with various nonprofit organizations on feasibility studies and capital campaigns. Prior to Miller Calhoun, Ms. Howard had an 8 year career as Director of Development with The Salvation Army St. Petersburg Area Command.

“I am honored to join Lighthouse of Manasota at such an exciting time since its founding nearly 30 years ago,” said Ms. Howard. “I look forward to bringing my experience as we plan for future growth and program expansion to help advance the individual growth and independence of children and adults with vision loss.”

Ms. Howard is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – Southwest Florida Chapter and serves on its Membership Committee. Ms. Howard is an accomplished graduate of the Grantsmanship Center and has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.

Lighthouse of Manasota is the only nationally accredited, private, non-profit agency providing rehabilitation training to blind and visually impaired individuals of all ages residing in a five county region that includes Sarasota, Manatee, DeSoto, Charlotte and Highlands. The Lighthouse offers training and rehabilitation to foster independence, productivity, and improved quality of life.
