Movers and Shakers Manatee Movers and Shakers: CS&L CPAs Team Donates over $2,000 in Gifts

Posted

BRADENTON – CS&L CPAs, a public accounting firm with offices in Bradenton and Sarasota, FL, asked its staff to participate in their annual giving campaign to provide Christmas gifts for children served by Manatee Children’s Services. The staff raised $1,195, which was matched by the firm for a grand total of $2,390. The money raised was then used to purchase gifts to grant Christmas wishes for the children in the Emergency Shelter. Children in the Emergency Shelter are victims of abuse or neglect and without the donations of the community, likely would not have any Christmas presents this year. Each child received one full outfit of clothing and a variety of gifts on their wish lists.

CS&L CPAs also purchased items for the shelter such as games, a game table, a Wii gaming console, candy, sheets, blankets, pillows, pots and pans and provided a Publix gift card to cover the Christmas Eve and Christmas day dinners that the CS&L CPAs staff ordered for them. One staff member donated 40 books to the Grandparents as Parents (GAP) program, which is a specialized program of Manatee Children’s Services.

The CS&L CPAs employees enjoyed a pizza lunch and gift wrapping party on December 12th, and gifts were picked up on December 13th to be brought to the shelter. This annual firm tradition was started 11 years ago, and the staff members look forward to raising donations, shopping for the children and wrapping the gifts every season.

Manatee Children’s Services is a non-profit organization that has been providing child abuse prevention and intervention programs in the community for 35 years.
