Movers and Shakers: Mandie Ferguson is the Manatee County Tax Collector

Posted

BRADENTON – Amanda “Mandie” Ferguson is the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Employee of the Quarter.  An employee since 2012, Mandie is an Associate II in Quality Assurance of the Current Collections Department.  She is responsible for the DMV daily reports, DMV quality control, quarterly employee recognitions, the Secret Shopper Program, and is often assigned special projects.

“Mandie played a significant role in redesigning the Mentor Program,” said Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr., in making the announcement. “Her challenge was to invigorate the program, and just ‘how’ this was to be accomplished was up to her. Mandie itemized the accomplishments of the project, measured the results, and showcased the participants’ successes. Her improvements breathed fresh air into the program.”

“Whatever project is assigned to Mandie, we know it will be completed with great thought and delivered on time,” said Debra Scott, Quality Assurance Manager.  “Mandie never complains about the extra workload and is accountable for each assignment. She embodies our core values of teamwork, excellence and accountability, and customer focus.  We are very happy to have her on our team.”

“During the Office’s Open House that nine counties participated in, Mandie presented an overview of Quality Assurance that received rave reviews,” said Current Collections Director Tony Conboy. “Many of the Tax Collector’s offices in attendance are contemplating or in the process of creating their own Quality Assurance departments and her presentation was timely and effectual.”

Mandie is a member of the Employees Special Activities Fund Team, which plans motivational events for employees throughout the year.  She received the “2013 Rookie of the Year” for her outstanding beginning and represented the Office at the Florida Sterling Conference in 2013.

Mandie’s name is engraved on the Employee of the Quarter Trophy, she receives a certificate, a reserved parking space, a uni-leave day, names a themed casual day in her honor, and a free pizza from Demetrio’s Pizza House, Cortez Road.
