Movers and Shakers: Michelle Hermey, Brendan McQuaid Receive Board Certifications From The Florida Bar

BRADENTON – The shareholders at Fergeson, Skipper, Shaw, Keyser, Baron & Tirabassi, P.A., are pleased to announce attorneys Michelle Lajoie Hermey and Brendan A. McQuaid have recently received their board certifications from The Florida Bar, giving the firm the distinction that all ten of its attorneys are board certified. The firm also includes attorneys James O. Fergeson, Jr., J. Ronald Skipper, E. Ralph Tirabassi, Richard R. Gans, David S. Maglich, Douglas R. Bald, Matthew B. Mayper, and J. Allison Archbold.

Only six percent of all attorneys in the State of Florida have been certified as specialists by the Florida Bar, and a firm of ten lawyers, all of whom are board certified, is extremely rare. The Florida Bar’s certification process is rigorous, requiring years of legal experience, extensive peer review, and passage of a comprehensive written examination.

Hermey is board certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in real estate law, and her areas of practice include administrative law, banking and finance law, land use and zoning, and real estate law. She received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Women’s Council of Realtors, and the Sarasota County Board of Realtors.

McQuaid is board certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in business litigation law, and some of his areas of practice include banking and finance law, business and commercial law, construction law, real estate law, litigation and appeals, and securities law. He received his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005. He is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association.
