Movers and Shakers: Rick Paras, MD joins the Cancer Center of Sarasota-Manatee

SARASOTA – Rick Paras, M.D. has joined the Cancer Center of Sarasota-Manatee, a member of the MAXhealth family of physicians and services. He will see patients at both the Sarasota office located at 3830 Bee Ridge Road and the Bradenton office located at 3501 Cortez Road West.

Dr. Paras is Board Certified and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

A native of the Philippines, Dr. Paras finished his undergraduate course at the University of Santo Tomas, Asia’s oldest university.  He graduated with honors and continued on to receive his medical degree from the same university and was on the Dean’s list.  Dr. Paras practiced medicine in the Philippines for a few years prior to continuing his studies in the US. 

After coming to the US, Dr. Paras completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center/New York Medical College.  He then completed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Allegheny General Hospital. 

Dr. Paras comes to the Cancer Center after spending 8 years with Ocala Oncology treating both Hematology and Medical Oncology patients.
