Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has appointed Carol Ann Malinowski as its new chief financial officer. Malinowski, a senior finance and administration executive, brings key financial management skills to the position. She joined the senior staff of the non-profit botanical research organization after a two-year stint in New York City with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. as Vice President and Interim CFO.
“Carol Ann is a seasoned financial executive who has experience in building systems that help non-profit organizations achieve greater capacities,” said Selby Gardens CEO & President Tom Buchter. “Her diverse background, fresh perspective and strategic approach have already established her credibility, and we look forward to benefitting from her financial leadership of the organization.”
“I am excited about joining the staff of such an iconic institution at a significant moment in its 40-year history,” commented Malinowski. “Following a successful capital campaign to create a new children’s rainforest, the Gardens is seeing record visitors, and donor confidence is on the rise. I’m pleased to be part of a team that is poised to continue the legacy of greatness for which Selby Gardens is admired and emulated.”
In her new role, Malinowski’s responsibilities include financial management, accounting, human resources, risk management, investment portfolio oversight, grant financial reporting, information technology, and facilities maintenance.
