Movers & Shakers: IBERIABANK Holds Used Book Drive to Benefit Libraries

BRADENTON – IBERIABANK, a 125-year-old subsidiary of IBERIABANK Corporation, continues the “i Gives Back” community outreach program with a used book drive to benefit Friends of the Selby Public Library in Sarasota County and Friends of the Manatee County Public Library. 

Throughout the months of January and February, IBERIABANK will collect new or like-new fiction and non-fiction hard cover editions and paperbacks in addition to children’s books at our 10 area branch locations. All books will be given directly to the libraries to be used in several ways. Book titles that are needed within the public library system will be added to the county’s inventories. Paperback books and hard cover books not needed within the system will be sold at Friends of the Library book sales or sold in bulk to book wholesalers to help to fund library initiatives.

“It is so important that we continue to support our local libraries. Encouraging literacy and ongoing learning at any age will have a positive impact on our community both now and into the future,” said Andy Kirkman, Retail Market Manager for IBERIABANK. “Most of us have books sitting around our homes, and this book drive is the perfect opportunity to do some spring cleaning for a great cause.”

New and like-new books may be dropped off at any of IBERIABANK’s 10 Sarasota and Manatee county locations. Old reference materials, old magazines or well-worn items cannot be accepted.
