MTI Hosts Car Show to Raise Funds for Student Scholarships

BRADENTON — Students and faculty from the Manatee Technical Institute Automotive Service Technology and Auto Collision and Repair programs will team up with local businesses to host the MTI’s Second Annual Car Show. The event will be held on Sunday, February 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at MTI’s Main Campus, located at 6305 State Road 70 East, Bradenton. The money raised at the event will help send students to the SkillsUSA National Championships.

Sponsors for the event include First Bank, Twisted Liquids Kustoms, Mad Marks, Sunset Auto Group, Lamborghini of Sarasota, Cox Chevrolet, AutoNation Ford, Gettel Toyota of Lakewood, Advance Auto Parts, The Parts House, Snap-On, M&R Audio, Crescendo Audio, and Bill Lee's Race Cars.

Admission is free to the public. Sponsors will provide door prizes, and music will be provided by Lance from Lance’s Cruzin’ to the Hop Car Shows. Hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and soft drinks will be available for purchase. 

All years, makes, and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles are welcome to participate.  The show will offer awards for best Antique/Classic, Paint Job, Engine, Stereo System, Muddiest Truck, and more. The registration fee to enter a vehicle for judging is $15. 

According to MTI Student, Doug Jenkins, “Anyone who is proud of their vehicle should enter, and anyone who loves custom cars, trucks or cycles should attend. It’s a great event for the whole family!”
