MTI to Offer Patient Care Tech Class in Palmetto

BRADENTON – Manatee Technical Institute will begin offering a Patient Care Technician class in Palmetto starting in January. The Patient Care Technician program prepares students for employment as advanced cross-trained nurse assistants for both acute and long-term health care settings. Part of the training includes aide level skills in electrocardiograph and phlebotomy and a clinical rotation under the supervision of a duly licensed or certified allied health care or nursing professional.

MTI is now accepting applications to the new program. Adult program completers who wish to continue their postsecondary education may earn advanced standing in the Practical Nurse program at MTI. The class will meet at the school’s north campus Mondays through Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. starting January 22 for approximately six months.
