Murdell Winston peacefully went to be with the Lord on December 1st, 2024. She was born to the union of Elizabeth and Ardell Sanders on April 9, 1939, in Cairo, Illinois.
Murdell was raised in South Bend, Indiana, but throughout her life lived in many places, including most recently Wyncote, PA., Evanston, IL., and Bradenton, FL., where she was a property manager and a devoted member of Northwest Baptist Church.
She is survived by Richard Winston, her husband of over 50 years who resides in Bradenton, FL. Her son, Floyd E. Carter of Philadelphia, PA., her daughters, crystal L. Jefferies of Indianapolis, IN, La Tanga Stewart and Selena Winston of Columbus, OH, and her sister, Lorrain Wright of Glendale, AZ. She is grandmother to Rickey Jeffries, and La Rena (T'Andre) Ottbridge of South Bend, Indiana, Sunsea (Martell) Williams of Lawrenceville, GA, Cheri Rocke and Victoria Jacobs of Philadelphia, PA., Alezandria Winston of Columbus, OH., Paja Jeffries of Indianapolis, IN., She leaves four great grandchildren, and a host of brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, grand nieces, and grand nephews, who will miss her dearly.
Cherishing her memory are her nieces, Julie Ross, Mary (Richard) Taylor, Elizabeth (Kevin) Woodgett, Dena Woodgett, all of Muncie, IN., and Tamika Roberson of Indianapolis, IN., and nephews Jason (Angie) Walker, Damon Walker, Scotty (Cathy) Walker, Ronald (Char) Hawkins, all of Muncie, IN., Charles (Sarah) Sanders Jr. of Columbus, OH., Kevin (Kiana) Woodgett II, Lyndhurst, OH., Jeffrey (Tamara) Walker of Dallas, GA., and a special friend Bettie (David) May of Anderson, IN.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Sanders, father, Ardell Sanders, sisters', Alma Jean Walker and Dorothy Morris, and brother Charles Sanders, Sr., and granddaughter Jasmine Swanson.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 43rd Street Chapel of Bradenton, FL.
Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2024, at Northwest Baptist Church, 7913 9th Avenue NW, Bradenton, Florida 34209.
