Nora D. Zec, 88, passed away on July 19, 2023, in Bradenton, FL. She was born on August 7, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to Carmelo and Francesca (Farruggia) Zambuto.
Nora lived in Chicago, Arlington Heights and Orland Park (IL) prior to moving to Bradenton in 1991.
An avid and lifelong Cub fan, Nora enjoyed all sports, her extended family, Italian cooking, and her many friends and loved ones. She will be missed by so many, and the Zec family extends sincere thanks to all those who loved her.
Nora was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Nicholas J. Zec, Sr.; son, James; brothers, John, Angelo (Antoinette) of Chicago, IL, Frank (Eleanor) of Omaha, NE, Joseph of Chicago, IL and sister, Rose of Chicago, IL. She is survived by her sons, Nicholas (Vicki) Zec and Michael (Jane Kopecky-Zec) Zec; daughter, Linda Zec; four grandchildren, Timothy (Molly) Prajka, Nicholas (Emma) Prajka, Alexander Zec and Cassandra Zec; brother-in-law, Cary Zec and sister-in-law, Darlene Zec of Elmhurst, Il, and many of her cousins, nephews and nieces.
No Local Services are planned at this time. Services will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines, IL. Burial at All Saints Cemetery Des Plaines, IL.
