JUPITER – The Marauders (44-41, 9-7) were stymied by Tyrell Jenkins (W, 3-1) and Sam Tuivalala (S, 3) on Saturday night, falling 4-1 to the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium. Jenkins went seven innings, surrendering just one unearned run. He did not strike out a Marauder.

The Cardinals plated three runs in the second inning against Tyler Glasnow (L, 4-4). Nick Martini and Anthony Garcia hit consecutive singles with one away, and Mason Katz walked to load the bases. Cesar Valera plated Martini with a sacrifice fly, and Gerwuins Velazco followed with a double to plate two more runs and put the Cardinals up 3-0. Charlie Tilson singled to center, but Raul Fortunato threw out Velazco at home to end the inning.

Glasnow worked into the seventh for the second time in three starts, both times against the Cardinals. He struck out six over 6 2/3 innings, but allowed a season high in hits, giving up seven knocks while allowing all four runs (three earned). Thomas Harlan retired all four batters he faced, striking out one.

Walker Gourley had two hits for Bradenton. Jordan Steranka drove in the only Marauders run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Josh Bell finished 1-for-4 with a run scored.

The rubber game of the series is at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Orlando Castro will start for the Marauders. Castro has allowed just one earned run in the second half of the season. Joe Cuda starts for the Cardinals.
