PALMETTO -- At Monday's meeting, the City Of Palmetto adopted resolution 2013-26, approving the tentative levying of Ad Valorem taxes and resolution 2013-27, approving a tentative budget, both for fiscal year 2014.
The Manatee County Property Appraiser certified the gross taxable value for the City of Palmetto as $654,625,857. The fiscal year 2014 operating millage was approved at 5.7171, which is 9.92 percent greater than the rolled back rate of 5.2010.
The General Fund expenses come to $9,451,737, which include funds for the mayor, the commission, the police and all other departments.
The CRA fund will receive $3,589,190; road and bridges: $1,341,442; solid waste: $2,102,786; and water and sewer $5,059,486.
The City of Palmetto has no voted debt service millage.
Both Resolutions shall take effect immediately upon their adoption.
