Palmetto City Commission Agenda Results: 4/7/2014

PALMETTO -- At Monday's Palmetto City Commission meeting, members passed Resolution 2014-04, revising land use and development fees. In other business, the City of Palmetto was awarded second place in the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Commission's Future of the Region Development Infrastructure Award.

11.  ASR WELL UPDATE -- Tusing -- All is good. 65 percent of the contract finished. 90 percent of the piping is complete

Chief Wells -- all is well

Public Works, Tusing -- 

City Clerk, Freeman -- CDBG application is in and the drainage scores are back; we are #39 of 55. Unlikely we will get that grant, but we are still looking for future funding.

13.  MAYOR’S REPORT -- Congratulations to the City of Palmetto, for Second Place winners in the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Commission's Future of the Region Development Infrastructure Award, for their very successful 5th Street project.  

14.  COMMISSIONERS’ COMMENTS -- 

Commissioner Williams -- wanted to know about the sign and noise ordinance. City Attorney said it would come to be soon. Williams wanted to get an estimated time and CRA Director Jeff Burton said he would email all with the info. Will be discussed at a later date.

Commissioner Varnadore -- Just wanted to thank everyone too for a great DeSoto Seafood Festival. Every event was exceptional.

Commissioner Davis -- I just want to echo that.

Commissioner Smith -- Saturday and Sunday at the festival were a great time.
