Palmetto City Commission Agenda Results: 9/9/2013

PALMETTO -- At Monday's City Commission meeting, Palmetto commissioners were awarded a $25,000 Economic Planning grant from the Department of Economics Opportunity for its downtown commercial core planning. In other business, commissioners scheduled a second hearing for a 100 room hotel with retail/office space on Riviera Way.

PRESENTATION: The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity will present a $25,000 Economic Planning Grant to the City of Palmetto for Downtown Commercial Core Planning.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALMETTO, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR FINDINGS OF FACT; APPROVING A CONCEPTUAL/GENERAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR 100-ROOM HOTEL, 3,000 SQUARE FEET OF RETAIL/OFFICE, AND 4 RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNITS, ON +/- 2.37-ACRE PARCEL LOCATED AT 120 RIVIERA DUNES WAY, PALMETTO, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. City Clerk, Jim Freeman -- Next Budget hearing is Monday, September 16, 2013. Following meeting and final budget hearing is September 23, 2013. 

Chief Rick Wells -- I want to thank Commissioner Davis for his help, and thank Commissioner Cornwell for the idea of getting the stats.
