Pamela Kay Shannon, was born to Dr. Larry R. Shannon, Sr., and Sis. Christine Woodie Shannon on January 13, 1957 in Bradenton, Florida.
As a child, Pamela attended St. John First Baptist Institutional Church where she was baptized and for a while sang in the choir. Pam had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She once considered entering American Idol competition.
At an early age, Pam was taught to cook by her grandmother Woodie and became quite skilled in the kitchen. Pam used to cook curry goat and when her grandfather Sam Shannon, Sr. found out, he asked Pam to cook him some "pearly goat". We all had a chuckle about the pronunciation of curry goat.
She attended public school in Manatee County. For a brief period, she attended the Arts Program at FAMU. She was very good at drawing and could capture what she saw on paper. Later in life, Pam entered school again at Tampa Technical Institute in Tampa, Florida, where she completed a program in computer science.
Her mother, Christine Woodie Shannon; brother, Larry Roland Shannon, Jr., and sister, Sabrina Shannon Bryant, all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her father, Dr. Larry R. Shannon, Sr. (Dr. Velma Charles-Shannon); brothers, Herbert Norris Shannon of Maryland and Dr. Larry R. Shannon, II (Candice) of Columbia, South Carolina; Aunt, Betty S. Jones of Palmetto, Florida; Uncle, Rev. Ervin H. Shannon (Emma) of Bradenton, Florida; Aunt, Janie W.
