Patricia Sylvia Laurie, a beloved mother, grandmother, and beacon of love and adventure, Patricia passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 90 in Ellenton, Florida, due to congestive heart failure. Patricia's early education took place at Harrison High School in her hometown of Chicago. Her thirst for knowledge and professional development led her to attend business school, where she excelled and went on to achieve success in the legal, insurance, real estate, and business fields. Her early career as a legal secretary laid a strong foundation for her future roles. Patricia's career was a diverse journey of service, culminating in her success as a Florida real estate agent and a licensing and permitting specialist for an air conditioning and heating contractor. Her dedication to her profession was evident in the meticulous care she took in every task, whether helping families find their dream homes or ensuring businesses operated smoothly.
Faith and family were the cornerstones of Patricia's life. She is survived by a loving family, including her children, Laura Liddell (David), Cynthia Laurie-Santaniello, John Laurie (Stephanie), Mark Laurie (Connie), and stepson Lawrence Turner (Amanda). The legacy of her love is carried on through her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Patricia was a matriarch in the truest sense, and with faith as her guiding light, she provided guidance, support, and unconditional love to all her family members.
Patricia was a woman of many interests, with a zest for life that was contagious. While she cherished time spent with her family above all else, she also enjoyed fishing, boating, movies, theater, and traveling. Her presence at her grandchildren's events and performances was a testament to her unwavering support and the joy she found in their accomplishments.
Patricia's impact on the world was significant, not only through her professional achievements but more importantly through the relationships she nurtured. She was active in her church life and Bible studies, which led her to sponsor and meet the girl she supported in Nicaragua. She also served as a Florida Guardian ad Litem volunteer. Her warmth, generosity, and kindness will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Her laughter, wisdom, and the stories she shared will resonate with her family and friends for generations to come.
