Penny Sue Decker, 69, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on May 12, 1955, in Allegan, Michigan, Penny lived a life marked by devotion-to her family, her faith, and her community.
For three decades, Penny served as the Principal's Secretary at Sebring High School. Her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impression on generations of students and staff alike. Her presence in the school office was more than administrative; it was a source of warmth and stability for all who walked through the doors.
Penny's heart belonged to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Decker; her mother, Agnes "Pug" Martin; her daughter, Tammy Caputo (husband, Frank); her son, Andrew Kesling (wife, Shanen); her sister, Kathy Martin; and daughter, Brandy Decker. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kylie, Kassidy, Rebecca, Olivia, Christian, Dalton, Colton, Mikel, Paul, and Vito. Penny is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers that she loved dearly. Penny was preceded in death by her father, Skip Martin and her sister, Nancy Martin.
A woman of deep faith, Penny was a proud member of Grace Bible Church. Her commitment to serving God and His people was evident in every aspect of her life. She believed wholeheartedly in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and lived each day with purpose and compassion.
Penny's kindred spirit touched everyone she met. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued. Whether through a thoughtful gesture or a listening ear, she brought comfort and joy to those around her.
Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. Penny found joy in growing orchids-nurturing each bloom with care-and loved playing music alongside Roger. She delighted in beach outings (her happy place) and had an enduring affection for flip-flops and turtles. Her generosity extended beyond people to animals as well; she was a devoted supporter of the Humane Society.
May the memory of Penny Sue Decker bring peace to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Grace Bible Church, 4541 Thunderbird Rd, Sebring, FL 33872. In lieu of flowers and gifts, kindly make donations to the Humane Society of Highlands County or Choices Family Resource Center in remembrance of Penny.
