Peter R. DeYong, 83, died September 29, 2024, at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. He was born February 1, 1941, in Somerville, New Jersey the son of the late David and Annie (Rinalda) DeYong.
Peter graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1959. He moved to Southern California where he met his wife Judith Marie Fodor. They married on September 24, 1966, in Buffalo New York and later welcomed two sons. His job with Sears had him move the family to Bradenton in 1973. He joined Eastern Airline at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport and was transferred to the Atlanta airport causing him to move the family to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1980. He eventually moved back to Bradenton at the end of 2000 where he owned his own landscaping business.
In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his wife Judith Marie (Fodor), brother Arthur, sister Gertrude, brother Gerrit, brother Paul, and brother Raymond. Surviving are his son Robert and his wife Angela, his son Joseph, his granddaughter Bailey, his grandson Matthew, his brother David Jr. and his wife Elaine, his sister Marion Mack, his sister Pamela and her husband Ernest Drake, his sister Lorraine and her husband Fred Ainsworth, and his sister Linda and her husband Allan Richner.
A visitation will be held 1-3 PM on Saturday, October 5 followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 PM at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel.
