Phil served five years in the Air Force Reserve as a crew member on an Air Force cargo plane. His visits to faraway places instilled a desire to travel that lasted a lifetime.

Phil and Jane enjoyed being entrepreneurs. They developed a knack for recognizing a demand for a service and creating a business to fill that demand. In 1972 they started an event promotion company that is still in operation today. They promoted hundreds of events including but not limited to Custom Van Shows, Craft Fairs, Flea markets, and many motorcycle-related events.

Their successes later prompted them to open an "Oldies" themed night club "The Class Reunion Lounge", which they owned for thirty years. They also purchased the same strip mall, and opened more businesses including "Big's Bar & Grill"; then "Kickers" and "Phillies", all in Blue Springs, MO.

In the mid 90's, Phil and his lifelong friend; brother-in-law "Dean Walker" created a company; purchasing, remodeling and renting homes. That business is still in operation.

Their spirit of adventure and love of boating led Phil & Jane to their current home in Bradenton, Florida. They enjoyed many cruises on their own boat, and numerous ocean cruises. They also shared many fun adventures traveling the U.S. on their "Harley Davidson". Phil would tell you he found his greatest joy in the time he and Jane shared with their children and grandchildren.
"Life is to be lived" and Phil lived his to the fullest.
