Photo Gallery: Citizens Protest Sprawl's Impact on Traffic

BRADENTON -- Twice in the last three weeks, citizens have amassed near the Cortez Bridge in protest of the Manatee County Commission's liberal development policy. Taxpayers, particularly those in the Village of Cortez whose only east-west artery is routinely log-jammed to a standstill as mainlanders try to get out to the the beach on weekend, say that the continued permitting of massive new development projects is ruining their way of life. The board had told them to get used to it.
