Phyllis “Sandy” Jordan passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, after a short illness. Sandy was born June 27, 1944, in Cotton, GA to Idus and Lois Joiner. She moved with her family to Manatee County when she was a teenager and graduated from Palmetto High School. Her faith was very important to her and in 2005 she was baptized by her high school friend Brother Bud Gillett at First Baptist Church of Gillette along with her longtime companion Tony Wills.
Sandy’s greatest joys in life were her son and grandchildren, and she was especially fond of Sunday night dinners and card games with the family. Her generous spirit and quick sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and beloved brother Rodney. She is survived by her brother Phil (Gerrie) Joiner, sister-in-law Linda Joiner, son Darrin (Cyndi) Jordan, grandchildren Amanda and Devin, and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A graveside service will be held at Palmetto Cemetery on June 27, 2026, at 11am, followed by a small reception at First Baptist Church Gillette, 3301 Moccasin Wallow Road, Palmetto, FL 34221.
