Another great podcast, Well done, Mitch and Dawn!

It is so great to hear Cheri’s calm and cool voice, reminding us of how it used to be. I have lived in Manatee County for 25 years and I have worked in local government for most of that time. I left my county job a few years back, but I still try to live by the ACE philosophy. We can turn this misguided ship around if everyone would start paying attention and get out and vote.

If nothing else, at least read the Bradenton Times and go watch The Big Picture on YouTube. You may recognize a few familiar faces.

    Keep up the great work!

I also am former staff. Most times when it was requested of me to research something for a commissioner, it came to me from my director or supervisor. One commissioner had a citizen who complained at least once a year and one time it was the same complaint two times. Thankfully I am anal and saved it from the first time and just had to do some update. I will admit one time a commissioner contacted me directly. He wanted some information to show at a town hall type meeting. I updated a powerpoint that I previously shown at a county public meeting and sent it to him.

I put in for retirement to coincide with me getting medicare so I actually officially retired after Hopes was gone. Had 26 years total, 23 years in one division all the way to manager. I was not happy working for the county anymore. Stayed because my husband passed away and it kept me busy for another ten years.
