PALMETTO – The Tigers are coming off one of their best seasons ever, having won the district and regional championships, before giving state champs Miami Norland their toughest game of the season in the 5A semi-finals. Palmetto returns thousand-yard rusher Josh Hicks (JR) and all-star receiver Cory Crawford (SR), while adding highly-touted transfer QB Spencer Atkins (SR), another Chris Weinke IMG protege.
Palmetto's schedule looks a lot like last season, only it includes a grueling stretch of away games. The Tigers will have their mettle tested in a brutal five-week period away from Harllee Stadium that includes an off-week, as well as back to back road games with district rival Hardee and national powerhouse Manatee, before returning home in week 10, only to host the always tough Southeast Seminoles in a district game that will almost certainly have playoff implications. Palmetto kicks things off with pre-season action at Venice this Friday night.
