Ralph Duane Settlemire, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Ralph was born on February 21,1932 and was the only child to Martin and Eva Settlemire.
Ralph graduated from Wellington High School and joined the United States Air Force where he served in the Korean War. He was a man of many trades but spent most of his career in the restaurant industry. In retirement, he worked for the Manatee County Sheriff's Department as a School Crossing Guard where he enjoyed interacting with students, parents, and school faculty. Ralph enjoyed all sports and spending time outdoors.
Ralph is preceded in death by his oldest son, Daniel Duane Settlemire, and parents, Martin and Eva Settlemire.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Lee Joyce Settlemire, daughter, Robin Renee Holden, sons, David Duane Settlemire (Temple) and Daron Duane Settlemire (Yvonne), step-daughter, Elizabeth Demming, step-son, Paul Demming, grandchildren, Angela Marie Quintanar (Zachary), Richard Duane Settlemire (Jessica), Shaun Paul Holden (Amanda), Christopher Michael Settlemire, Joshua David Settlemire (Tracy), Sabrina Lynn Settlemire, Stephania Marie Settlemire, Zoey Carpenter, Ciara Nicole Settlemire, Zachary Ryan Settlemire, Lindsey Aline Priest (Will), David Dalton Settlemire, and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
