Randy Duane Werts, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 65. He was born on April 30, 1961, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and throughout his life he carried with him the values of faith, music, family, hard work, and quiet strength. Randy lived as a Christian man whose life reflected love, intelligence, and a genuine interest in the people and world around him.
Randy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle whose presence brought comfort and steadiness to those who knew him best. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Werts, whom he married on August 30, 1997. He is also survived by his mother, Kay Marie Leamon; his brothers, Richard Dean, Robert David, and Ronald Douglas; his sister, Renee Diane; and his children, Wesley Michael, Ryan Daniel, Raegan Dalphine, Rhys Davis, and Ryleigh Dalayne. Randy also leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his grandchildren, Helena Anne, Alexander Hans, Riley Drake, Callie Devon, Rheya Padmae, Tiffani Jean, Titus Wesley, Theodora Kay, Magnolia Ann, Rhylyne Daysi, and Rhexy Dalilah, each of whom brought him joy and pride. He is also remembered by his three nieces and five nephews, as well as his two great nieces and three great nephews, all of whom are part of the family circle that he cherished. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Duane Werts, whose memory remained an important part of Randy’s story.
Randy pursued his education with determination and purpose. He graduated from Lamar High School as a member of the Class of 1979, and he continued his studies at Lamar University and ITT Technical School, finishing with a Electrical Engineer Degree from Purdue University. His education supported the many paths he took in life, and he used his knowledge to build, solve, and lead with confidence. He was the kind of man who valued learning and understood the importance of applying knowledge with humility and care.
Randy’s life was shaped by service and dedication. He was a proud Navy Veteran who served as an E-2 Electric and Mechanical Equipment Repairman, and that chapter of his life reflected his willingness to serve something greater than himself. After his military service, he built a career marked by skill, perseverance, and leadership. He worked as a Software Engineer and Director of Manufacturer Liaison, a Project and General Manager, and a CAD Engineer. In each role, he brought intelligence, reliability, and a thoughtful approach to his work. He was respected not only for what he knew, but also for the calm and steady way he carried responsibility. With the love, joy, and passion through his whole transformation with God, and taking his love and devotion and working in the Children's Ministry at the Bridge Church.
Those who knew Randy will remember his love for golf, home improvement, movies, and gaming. These interests reflected the many sides of his personality, from his enjoyment of quiet recreation to his appreciation for creativity, challenge, and time well spent. He was interesting in conversation, intelligent in thought, and loving in the way he treated others. His family and friends will remember his presence, his humor, and the way he made ordinary moments feel meaningful with all of his spice.
Randy’s life was a testimony to faith, devotion, and perseverance. Though he will be deeply missed, those who love him take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. His earthly journey has ended, but his memory remains a blessing, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in the peace of the Lord, and may his family be sustained by the grace and comfort of God in the days ahead.
