Richard "Dick" Michael Pensivy, 82, passed away peacefully at his home with his family in Palmetto on September 7, 2023.
Richard was a 1958 graduate of St Joseph's Catholic High School in Pittsfield MA and a Veteran of the US Navy where he served for 4 years. After his service, he married Elizabeth Kelly, also of Pittsfield, MA, where they resided and raised their family. Richard worked at General Electric Company as an electronic technician for 38 years until his retirement to Palmetto FL.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Marc Pensivy of Gulfport. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Kelly Pensivy; siblings, Robert Pensivy of Lenox, MA, Sandra Pensivy of Pittsfield, MA, and Nancy Spasyk of Lenox, MA. He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa Peck of Bradenton, FL, and Melissa Gilbert of Portland, ME; son, Richard Pensivy, Jr., of Columbiana, AL. Richard is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In Florida, Richard was a communicant of Holy Cross Parish of Palmetto where he enjoyed being an altar server, (especially with Patrick), a participant on the bereavement committee and an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Parish of Palmetto at a date to be determined. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
