Richard T. Morash, 92, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida.
Born to Ellen and James on June 14, 1933 in Malden MA., he grew up in Queens, NY. He graduated from CCNY with a degree in engineering. While at CCNY, Dick served as a member of the US Army's Persian Rifles Unit. He began his career with Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp and moved over to NASA where he was a team member for the Apollo Program. Specifically working on the lunar module.
In the early 1970's, he moved to Bradenton and worked with many wonderful people at Precise Power Corp., where they developed and patented motor generators and uninterruptible power systems. Dick and Marge moved their family to Anna Maria in 1975, where he enjoyed swimming and walking on the beach. He also enjoyed his role as scoutmaster for Troop 7 on Anna Maria for many years, where he was an exemplary role model for many of the island youth and to many of his children's friends.
A 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, he is survived by his sons, Richard Morash Jr., Kevin Morash, and daughter, Kathleen Boucher as well as three grandsons, Kristofer II, Stephen, and Sean, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his son, Kristofer, and his 4 siblings: James, Elizabeth, Elenor, and Robert.
A celebration of life and visitation will be held at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL. Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00pm. A mass will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on Anna Maria Island, 248 S. Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach, FL 34217. Interment to follow at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 US-19, Palmetto, FL 34221.
