Robert Alan "Bob" Price, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend of many, passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 79 in Bradenton, Florida.
Bob was born on July 6, 1943, to, and preceded in death by Martin Joseph Price, II and Margaret Louise (Tate) Price in St. Louis, Missouri.
Bob graduated from Maplewood Richmond Heights High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, spending the majority of his service years stationed in Japan. Upon returning home to the United States, he relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, and began his career at International Harvester, where he spent the next thirty years in maintenance and construction welding. He also received a Technical Certificate in Welding Technology from Indiana Vocational Technical College (Ivy Tech). After retiring from International Harvester (Navistar), he began teaching welding at his Alma Mater, Ivy Tech, and opened his own business – Metal Tech – a welding and fabrication company. Through the years, Bob, a man of boundless energy, enjoyed many hobbies including golf, bowling, billiards, motorcycling, and a myriad of others. He was also a Mason and became a Past Master of Prospect Lodge #714 F. A.M., pursued his dreams of helping children through Shriner’s International, and enjoyed riding mini-bikes in parades with his brothers.
Bob was a stranger to no one, made friends wherever he went and was always quick to lend a helping hand. As a funny, witty and charismatic being, it is safe to say that he was always the life of the party. Seven years ago, Bob and his beloved wife, June relocated to Bradenton, Florida, where they built a new community of friends and were able to enjoy their retirement with each other, and their cherished dogs and fully lean into a life of sunshine and love.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon "June“ Price; his brother, Martin Joseph Price, III (Kathy Rose); his children, Robert Price, II (Teresa), Matthew Price (Tina); his step-children, Melissa Whitney, Jason Cummins (Angela) and Andrew "Andy“ Cummins (Christie); his grandchildren, Holly Price, Phoenix Price, Jasmine Price, Chris Lindsey (Kelsey), Ashley Lindsey, Katie Lindsey, Amber Tindle (Cutler), Dakota Meyer (Sarah); his step-grandchildren, Briana Cummins (Nick), Keenan Cummins (Kayla),Kaitlyn Yates (Devin), Malia Cummins, Krista Cummins, Austin Hopley, Adam Hopley, Katie Hopley, Brandon McGrane (Kailey), Connor Johns, as well as many great-grandchildren.
A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service will be held from 4-7 PM, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Family and friends are invited to come share fond memories and stories and share a meal with us.
Military Honors will be 11:30 AM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Sarasota National Cemetery with lunch and a sharing of memories of Bob at Cambridge Village Clubhouse, Bradenton, Florida. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
