Robert (Tony) Anthony Abbott, born June 5, 1960, in Bradenton, Florida, passed away on September 27, 2026. Born and raised in Bradenton, Tony spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and a community that meant so much to him.
Tony was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and best friend. His greatest pride and joy were his favorite daughters, Crystal Abbott, Samantha Abbott, and Sabrina Abbott and Whitney Young. To his daughters, he was not only their father, but also their protector, hero, biggest supporter, and best friend. His love for his girls was at the center of his life.
Tony was a proud grandfather and soon to be great grandfather who cherished his grandchildren Princess Paisley, Jaydon, Dj, Tommy, Colton, Ricky, Lilly, and Maddie and the memories they made together. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured the time he was able to spend with the people he loved.
Tony was also a beloved part of the travel softball community. For many years, he dedicated his time and heart to Founding the Manatee Twisters Association, Palma Sola Park and Bayshore Highschool as a softball coach. Coaching was about much more than the game to Tony. He enjoyed encouraging young athletes, teaching them, supporting them, and watching them grow both on and off the field. The friendships and memories he made through softball will remain a meaningful part of his legacy.
Tony is survived by his favorite daughters, Crystal Abbott and son in law Daniel Haskins, Samantha Abbott, Sabrina Abbott and Whitney Young; his oldest brother, Jay Abbott; his brothers and lifelong best friends, John Vegas and Ricky Jones; his grandchildren; and the many family members, friends, players, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Nelly Virginia Abbott and Harry Warden Abbott, and his sister Peggy Arnold.
Tony will be remembered for the love he had for his daughters and grandchildren, the loyalty he showed his friends, and the time he devoted to the softball community. He was a father, grandfather, brother, coach, and best friend—but above all, he was someone who made a lasting difference in the lives of the people around him.
His memory will live on in his family, in the friendships he treasured, in the players he coached, and in the countless memories he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Forever our Hero.
