With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Lee Hirshberg on February 22, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 20, 1941, in McKeesport, PA, Ron moved to Bradenton, FL, around 1944 and spent the majority of his life there. He attended Manatee High School and went on to graduate from Florida State University with a degree in Business.

Ron and his siblings were incredibly close, spending their younger years enjoying all that Florida had to offer; hunting, fishing, and boating were his lifelong passions. After working in the family clothing business and finding success in medical sales, Ron followed his love for the water and ventured into the boat sales business. In the late 1970s, he founded Hirsh Sailing Yachts and played a key role in developing several marinas in the area, including Regatta Pointe Marina in Palmetto, which continues to operate today.

Ron later joined his brother, Gary, at Galati Yacht Sales on Anna Maria Island, where he built a remarkable career spanning over 20 years. He was an icon in the yachting industry, known for his business acumen, leadership, and generosity in mentoring others. His contributions were instrumental in the expansion and success of the business, leaving a lasting legacy.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron was a compassionate and caring man who dearly loved his family. He never passed judgment and was always there to help in any way he could. As the patriarch of the family, his wisdom and guidance were a steady presence, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Vivian Hirshberg; his brother, Gary Hirshberg; and his beloved son, Mark Hirshberg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Hirshberg; his daughter, Ashley Conrad; his sons, Mike Hirshberg, Ryan Hirshberg, and Christopher Hirshberg; and his sister, Darrel Ann Monroe. He was a cherished uncle to his five nieces and nephews: David, Todd, Stacy, Carrie, and Craig. He was also a proud grandfather to Brooke, Carson, Abigail, Morgan, and Samantha, and a beloved great-grandfather to Liam. His memory will forever live on in their hearts and in the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on April 5th with the location announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to Manasota Pregnancy Center at www.carenetmanasota.com -or- The Humane Society of Manatee County at www.humanemanatee.org.

Ron will be deeply missed but always remembered for his love of family, his passion for the water, and his remarkable contributions to his community and industry. His guidance and presence will never be easily replaced.
