Sally Lee Nilsson (Barrante) passed away peacefully after a very brief illness on January 17, 2025, at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Florida. She was born February 3, 1938, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of Salvatore Barrante and Helen Elizabeth (Serkey) Barrante and grew up in Harwinton. She graduated from Torrington High School, Class of 1956.
She was married to John (Lenny) Nilsson until his death in 2005. They raised their family in Torrington, CT where she lived until her move to Bradenton, FL in 2017.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Barrante and David Barrante.
Survivors include her daughter, Lenni-Lee Nilsson of Bradenton, FL and son, David Jon Nilsson and his wife Kathleen (Lepage) Nilsson of Torrington, CT. She is also survived by her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer (Columbia) Kenney and her husband, Michael Kenney, great granddaughter Jillian Kenney and great grandson Nathan Kenney of Bradenton, FL. Survivors also include her sister-in-laws, Marie Davis and her husband Gerald, Linda Barrante and Betty Barrante as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.
She enjoyed traveling and the CT casinos. But most of all, she will be remembered for her love of her many cats and all wildlife creatures, great and small.
She will rest at Hillside Cemetery with her husband at the convenience of the family.
