Bradenton, Florida - Sandra "Sandy" Plaugher (May 25, 1951-August 1, 2024), was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, and partner. She was also the granddaughter of hardworking immigrants who achieved the American dream, a proud union member, and a lifelong Democrat.

Sandy was many things including fiery, independent, and very opinionated. But, she was also caring, supportive, hardworking, loyal, and the greatest mom anyone could have been blessed to have. One of her greatest accomplishments; aside from raising her four handsome, successful, funny, and "healthy" sons; was her work to help successfully unionize her workplace resulting in improved working conditions for herself and her co-workers.

She is survived by her four sons Randy Jr., Brian (Stacy), Jamie (Sam), and Danny (Jan); eleven grandchildren, four - with a fifth on the way - great-grandchildren, loving partner Herb Loynd and fur-baby MooCoo, seven siblings (Elaine, Ed, Frank, Denise, Paula, Beth, and Nancy), and mom Elsie. She was preceded in death by her father Edward McDonough or Pappy as he was known to the family.

Her sons want to thank Herb and their uncle Ed for helping to take care of their mom during her short battle with cancer, as well as the wonderful Manatee Memorial Hospital 5RS team. A celebration of life will be announced soon, but in lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite cancer charity because F cancer.
