BRADENTON — For the fourth consecutive year, State College of Florida Manatees Women’s Tennis team is headed to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Tournament May 3-9 in Tyler, Texas. The team won the Florida College System Activities Association State/NJCAA Region VIII Championship on April 12.
Natella Nabieva won the No.1 singles tournament, Miranda Talbert won the No. 2 singles tournament, and Chloe Murphy won the No. 5 singles tournament. Laura Lapp placed third in the No. 4 singles tournament.
Nabieva partnered with Jen Weissmann to claim the No. 1 doubles tournament, and Talbert and Murphy won the No. 2 doubles tournament.
Nabieva, Talbert, Murphy and Weismann also were named to the FCSAA All-State team. Coach Betsy McCormack was named the FCSAA Coach of the Year.
