School Board of Manatee County Public Hearing Results Aug. 1, 2011

BRADENTON-- The Manatee County School Board moved to approve, 3-2 with Julie Aranibar and Karen Carpenter dissenting, the tentative budget with the option to implement the supplemental millage rate hike if they feel they need to adopt it to make up for a $15 million dollar shortfall facing the district. On Sept. 8, 2011 they will vote to officially adopt it.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the supplemental operating discretionary millage, resolution adopting the fiscal year 2011-12 total millage, and tentative annual budget for 2011-12.

The Superintendent recommended that the Board approve a supplemental operating discretionary millage for 2011-12 of .748.

The Superintendent recommended that the board approve a resolution to adopting the fiscal year 2011-12 Total Millage of 7.960.

11. Approval of 2011-12 Fiscal Year Tentative Annual Budget in the Amount of $579,733,338 (Approved 3-2 Aranibar and Carpenter dissenting)

The Superintendent recommended that the Board approve the 2011-12 Fiscal Year Tentative Annual Budget in the amount of $579,733,338.
