Scott Blacketer, of Bradenton, FL, aka "Uncle Scotty" aka "BlackJack" passed away tragically Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the young age of 36.

He has been eternally reunited with his maternal grandparents, George and Janice Miller of Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Souk Soum and his two fur babies, Chance and Monte. Along with his mother and stepfather Lori and Les Manalo, father Marc Blacketer, brother Chad Blacketer (Breanna), stepbrother Les Manalo II, nephew Logan Manalo, niece Miley Manalo, paternal grandmother Jane Blacketer, multiple aunts/uncles Angie (Tommy), Dee (Kevin), George (Tracy), Stephanie (Aaron), Trish (Tom), Kim (Dewey), Victoria (Tony), Angie (Jeff), Johnny and numerous cousins.

Scott was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 1, 1986, and moved to Florida when he was 12 where he made many lifelong friendships. He worked in the AC industry for 15 years where he did sales, installs and technical work.

He loved his fur babies with all his heart. He found his first boy, Chance, in a cardboard box that was left behind in a parking lot. He took a "Chance" on him. "Monte," his second fur baby, came along about a year later as a Christmas gift. Every fur baby and all the kids loved "Uncle Scotty." That alone should tell you something about this guy. Sometimes he didn’t always make the best decisions as a young man but he became the most kind, most caring and most loyal man. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, partner and friend. He had the biggest heart, the best hugs and smiles for miles. He would light up any room with just his presence. He never knew a stranger. He would give the shirt off of his back or lend a hand in an instant. If you knew him, you knew his number was 420.

Scott played little league and Babe Ruth baseball. He loved go-carts, trick bikes, roller coasters and any good adrenaline rush. But mostly he loved dirt bikes and motorcycles. When he was just 3 years old, he was already getting into mischief with those motorcycles. The motorcycles were his passion, he loved the thrill of them. He loved the brotherhood, the family and the community. They brought so much joy and happiness to Scott. The friendships made in this chapter of Scott’s life consisted of selflessness, empathy, trust and different perspectives from all ages and backgrounds.

Scott tragically lost his life while riding a motorcycle on the way to participate for the "Miles for Smiles Christmas Toy Run." He will forever live on in our hearts and our memories. We are all blessed to have had this wonderful human in our lives, even if only for a short amount of time.

Visitation will be Friday, December 23 from 3-4 pm with a service beginning at 4 pm at Skyway Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 5200 US Highway 19 Palmetto, FL 34221.
