Posted

BRADENTON - If you want a say in the planning process in the county, a seat has opened on the planning commission.

A member has moved out of Manatee County, according to a press release Friday from the county government, and applications from prospective members will be accepted through June 26.

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the Manatee County Commission regarding proposed development, while helping to interpret Manatee County's Land Development Code.

The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m., or as needed, in the first-floor chambers of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W.

No particular expertise is required to apply for the Planning Commission, but those with experience or training in planning, engineering, environmental science and the development industry will be given strong consideration.

For more information, or to apply for Manatee County Planning Commission, visit the County Web site or call (941) 745-3700, Ext. 3707.
