Sharon A. Zombas lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, family, and an appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She passed away on September 8, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida.

Born on September 6, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, Sharon was a talented hairstylist with a remarkable artistic eye. Her creativity extended beyond her career into her love of fashion, decorating, gardening, and creating beautiful surroundings.

Sharon was a lifelong worldwide traveler and an adventurer at heart. She and her husband shared a passion for researching and planning journeys around the world, discovering new places, cultures, foods, and experiences. She wanted to experience life, not simply observe it. Her adventures included paragliding in Brazil—one of her proudest accomplishments—as well as whitewater rafting, zip-lining, hiking, and exploring nature. She loved animals, especially monkeys, and rarely turned down an opportunity to try something new. Her philosophy could often be summed up simply: “Why not?”

Sharon also showed her love through food. She loved preparing delicious meals for her family and bringing everyone together around the table. She treasured those moments of connection, laughter, and togetherness.

Her Christian faith was an important source of comfort and strength, and her family remained at the center of her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Chris Zombas; her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Howard Geller; her stepchildren, Deanna Flores and Christopher E. Zombas; her grandchildren, Isabella Parlapiano-Lamb, Emily Flores, Noah Flores, Elijah Zombas, and Carter Zombas; her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Rachel Lorenson; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Voula Zombas, along with many other family members and friends.

Sharon lived life with curiosity, courage, creativity, and joy. She leaves behind not only the people who loved her, but a lifetime of stories, adventures, and memories that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
